My Journey to Kursunlu Waterfall in Antalya, Turkey with My Wife - A Canadian's Perspective

As a lover of nature and travel, I was thrilled to explore the Kursunlu Waterfall in Antalya, Turkey, a destination that promised to be a highlight of our trip. My wife and I, both ardent admirers of natural beauty, were eager to discover this Turkish gem firsthand.

Discovering Kursunlu Waterfall Kursunlu Waterfall, tucked away in a picturesque nature park near Antalya, is a haven of tranquility and beauty. I found myself comparing its serene ambiance to some of the most beautiful natural sites we had visited worldwide. The journey to this waterfall was an adventure in itself, with each turn revealing more of Turkey's splendid landscape.

Our Arrival at Kursunlu Waterfall Upon arriving at Kursunlu Waterfall Park, my wife and I were greeted by lush greenery and the soothing sound of water. The contrast between the bustling city life of Antalya and the peacefulness of the park was stark and refreshing. Paying a small entrance fee felt like a small contribution to preserving this slice of paradise.

Exploring the Trails The park offered us well-maintained trails that meandered through the forest, leading to the waterfall. My wife, always enchanted by flora, was delighted by the sight of wildflowers and towering pines, reminiscent of the scenic trails back home. We enjoyed spotting squirrels and listening to the chirping of birds, which added to the park's charm.

The Majestic Waterfall Finally, we reached the Kursunlu Waterfall. The sight of the water cascading down from 18 meters into serene pools was breathtaking. My wife was visibly moved by the waterfall's elegance and power, which reminded us of some of the grand waterfalls we'd seen in our travels.

Wildlife and Natural Beauty As wildlife enthusiasts, we were excited to spot various birds and butterflies in their natural habitat. The biodiversity of Kursunlu Waterfall Park was impressive, echoing the conservation efforts we value so much. My wife, in particular, was thrilled to photograph the vibrant butterflies that fluttered around.

Family-Friendly and Accessible I found Kursunlu Waterfall to be an ideal destination for families. The gentle trails and picnic areas made it a perfect spot for a family outing. Watching children enjoy the natural setting reminded us of the importance of introducing the younger generation to the wonders of nature.

I always get a kick out of signs made with Google Translate.

Best Time to Visit We visited Kursunlu Waterfall during the spring, which I believe is the best time to experience its beauty. The weather was mild, and the flora was in full bloom, creating a picturesque setting for our adventure.

Staying Near Kursunlu Waterfall Although we stayed in Antalya, there were plenty of accommodation options nearby. Staying in the city gave us the flexibility to explore other regional attractions along with our visit to the waterfall.

We loved the plant life.

Park Regulations and Conservation

Respecting the park's regulations was important to us. We made sure to follow the paths and not to litter, contributing to the conservation of this beautiful site. The small entrance fee we paid seemed a fair price for the maintenance and preservation of such a natural wonder.

Conclusion Visiting Kursunlu Waterfall with my wife was an unforgettable experience. Its serene beauty and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature was a highlight of our trip to Turkey. For anyone planning a visit to Antalya, I highly recommend adding Kursunlu Waterfall to your itinerary. It's not just a tourist spot; it's a journey into the heart of Turkey's natural splendor, offering a peaceful and rejuvenating escape from the everyday.

The Bible in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin

The most fascinating thing about the Pegamon Museum in Berlin is how the objects there are connected to the Bible. In this page I will try to share the top things that not only relate to the Bible, but confirm it’s authenticity. I will also share things that bring Bible accounts to light and make them more realistic. 1. The Ishtar Gate This is the crown jewel of the museum and has much significance to the Bible. It was likely seen by many Israelite captives, including Daniel himself! It was built by Nebuchadnezzar around 575 BCE. The walls were disassembled in Iraq and moved to this museum early in the 20th century. The beautiful and colorful glazed bricks retell the glory of Babylon. Original gate brought to Berlin from Babylon This was one of the gates through which one could enter Babylon. What is more impressive is that which is not seen. Babylon was so fortified that this wall extended 14 meters (45 feet) underground! It accounts for the confidence and pride that Nebuchadnezzar ex

The Ivriz Rock Relief | It's Connection to the Bible

A little off the highway in the Taurus mountains of Turkey we found a lesser known known gem with a connection to the Bible called the Ivriz Rock Memorial. It is located here according to Google Maps, but this is a more precise location. After doing some research, it was surprising to learn that there is a connection to the Bible. This connection is what I want to share. The key to seeing it’s connection is to first of all understand the writing on the relief itself.  What the Rock Relief Shows On the left we see a god named Tarhunas. He has a horned helmet which was a symbol of divinity. He is holding some stocks of wheat in his left hand and grape clusters in the other. Just below his left arm we see a sickle. All of this indicates fertility and prosperity. To the right we see a person of smaller size in relation to this god, indicating inferiority. This is King Warpalawa. Notice that he is standing on a platform and is raising his hands. This is a gesture of worship. The location
